GitHub Action
Run a Doxynix analysis from a GitHub Actions workflow with doxynix/action.
doxynix/action dispatches a repository analysis from a GitHub
Actions workflow. It wraps the same API the CLI calls, so a run started from CI produces the same
documents, metrics and pull request findings as one started from the dashboard.
What it does
The action sends an analysis request for the checked-out repository and the given branch. It does not wait for the run to finish and it does not write to your repository; the generated documents land in the Doxynix workspace, ready to review or stage.
Workflow
name: Rebuild AI Documentation

branches: [main]

document:
runs-on: ubuntu-latest
steps:
- uses: actions/checkout@v4
- name: Trigger Doxynix Documenter
uses: doxynix/action@v1
with:
doxynix-token: ${{ secrets.DOXYNIX_TOKEN }}
branch: mainInputs
| Input | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
doxynix-token | Yes | — | API key used to authenticate the request |
branch | No | main | Branch to analyze |
api-url | No | https://doxynix.space | API host; override for a different deployment |
Secret
Create an API key on the API keys page and store it in the repository
as DOXYNIX_TOKEN under Settings → Secrets and variables → Actions. Reference it as
${{ secrets.DOXYNIX_TOKEN }} and never inline the value in the workflow file, where it would be
visible to anyone who can read the repository.
API key scope
The action calls the tRPC surface, so the key needs the CLI scope or FULL. An MCP-only key is
rejected with a permission error.
